Z-Wave: Settings

 
These are the low level Z-Wave controls operations such as adding (Including), removing (Excluding) and others. Please see the chapter USING Z-WAVE for more information.
 
Please Note! Adding or removing Brights over Z-Wave is an automated process available with one touch. There is no need to physically travel between Brights if they are connected via Wi-Fi when adding or removing them.  Please use the "Control Shortcuts" described on the Z-Wave page.

TOUCH TO INCLUDE A DEVICE

1. TOUCH TO INCLUDE A DEVICE
Touching this will start the process within Brightswitch to add a Z-Wave device. After starting this process on Brightswitch, go to the device to be added and follow its instructions for adding it to a new network. This may be pressing a button, installing a battery or following the instructions in the device manual. Once Brightswitch finds the device it will return to the Z-Wave screen and display the device.
 
Brightswitch can include any Z-Wave device but can control on/off switches and dimmable lamps.
 
Please note that Z-Wave dimmable and on/off lamps and switches may also be easily added using the pull down menu shown on the General, Switches, General - Pick a Switch display. Picking this option will start the same process described above.
 
Added Z-Wave devices will be available on the Brightswitch Wi-Fi network. These devices can be assigned to any of the four slots for control on each Brightswitch.

TOUCH TO EXCLUDE A DEVICE

2. TOUCH TO EXCLUDE A DEVICE
Touching this will start the process within Brightswitch to remove a Z-Wave device. After starting this process on Brightswitch, go to the device to be removed and follow its instructions for removing it from a network. This may be pressing a button, installing a battery or following the instructions in the device manual. Once Brightswitch removes the device it will return to the Z-Wave screen.
 
Brightswitch can remove any Z-Wave device.

TOUCH TO EXCLUDE/INCLUDE BRIGHT

3. TOUCH TO EXCLUDE/INCLUDE BRIGHT
Use this button to add or remove Brightswitch to or from a Z-Wave hub. First start the add process on the hub, then press this button on Brightswitch. Brightswitch and the hub will share information about the devices they already have. Some hubs will allow Brightswitch to continue to add additional Z-Wave devices, some will not.  Z-Wave devices on the hub that are shared with Brightswitch will be available on the Brightswitch Wi-Fi network.

TOUCH TO START CONTROLLER SHIFT

4. TOUCH TO START CONTROLLER SHIFT
**Advanced function** If Brightswitch is the primary controller in a network this button will transfer that role to the other controller or hub in the network.  First activate this button, then follow the instructions on the other controller to accept the new role (Normally by selecting "Learn Mode".)

TOUCH TO SEND NIF to NETWORK

**Advanced function** Sends information about the Brightswitch Z-Wave device to the network.

TOUCH TO RESET BRIGHT ZWAVE

6. TOUCH TO RESET BRIGHT ZWAVE
Touch to reset the Brightswitch Z-Wave.  This will remove all connections to other Z-Wave devices and ready the Brightswitch for creating a new network but not effect other Z-Wave devices or Brights.  They will need to be reset individually.

Touch to reset the Brightswitch Z-Wave on this Bright and all other Brights on the network. Other non-Bright Z-Wave devices will not be effected.
